Summer Reading is Energizing Me!

Here it is,  summer!   I have committed with my reading students to read 1000 pages this summer.  Though I have committed with my Nerdy book club friends to read a book a day.  Summer started last Thursday afternoon for me and I’m only one book behind.  The good news is that one of my student’s mother emailed me Thursday afternoon to see if I was going to meet the students at the library this week.   I am going to have a weekly check in two days a week with the students drop in style at our local library.

So far my reading includes:

The Trouble with Chickens by Doreen Cronin

Marty McGuire by Kate Messner

The School Mouse by Dick King Smith

Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World

Adult reading includes:

Heather Webber’s new mystery

To Have and To Kill  Mary Jane Clark

It sounds like I’m a mystery lover and I guess I have been since junior high.  They just seem like summer reads to me.

Professional book wise,  I’m reading Opening Minds by Peter Johnston this week.  This is why I’m behind on my reading.  How can 15 pages make me look up so many things and take so many notes about coaching and teaching?  Image
